Atomic Brother Update July 19, 2008

Hey everybody! It's been a little while since we've sent out an update. As is typical with unsigned or independent bands, things got hectic with the release of our album, See Me Comin'. Since we finished writing and recording we needed to take a few steps back and spend some time doing a little housekeeping to get the Atomic Brother house in order and work on the music business side of things. But that doesn't mean we've stopped playing and working on new stuff. Here's what's been going on in the world of Atomic Brother.

Upcoming Shows

Playing NYC the past year has been a blast, but, to quote the Animals, "we gotta get outta this place, if it's the last thing we ever do!" On that note, we're taking a break from the stage to book shows outside NYC - including Europe and Asia - and to write songs for our next album.

We have been invited to perform at the Baltimore Music Conference in September, which takes place at venues throughout Baltimore, September 17-20. We'll be playing Friday, September 19 at Bedrock at 401 W Baltimore St.

Working on Number 2

While we've enjoyed spending the last year performing songs from our album, See Me Comin', we realized we had to keep things moving forward. So, we have been working hard the last few months songwriting for our next Atomic Brother album. As result, we have about 12 killer new songs, plus we re-worked a few older songs that we really loved from the See Me Comin' sessions. We'll be posting some videos of the songwriting sessions and rehearsals in our video podcast, Wastin' Time with Atomic Brother. Plus, we'll be working some of these into our live set when we return to the stage later this year!

In April we were featured in the ezine, Indie-in-Tune. Here's some of what they had to say about us.

"Few bands touch upon so many different styles as these guys, as their songs mix the aggressiveness of metal, the vitality of rock, the urgency of punk as well as the catchy melodies of pop into one whole that is more than the sum of its parts. Such a broad spectrum of influences could be a recipe for total disaster in the wrong hands, resulting in a messy jumble of styles, but that's where the biggest merit of Atomic Brother resides – here's a band that knows how to keep things cohesive and balanced throughout their songs.
